Taste & Nutritional Value

Delicious, tangy, citrus flavor combined with the delightful sweetness of basil. Lime Basil has a lot of nutritional properties, containing high amounts of Vitamin K, C and A, plus Calcium and Iron.

Lime Basil is native to tropical Africa, India and Southeast Asia, where to this day it is still cultivated. It was brought to tropical America during the 1700’s and eventually to Australia. Today, it is used as an insect repellent in many gardens. It also attracts bees and other pollinators. In India, Lime Basil is used for wounds and is prescribed for digestive issues. In tropical Africa Lime Basil has been used for medicinal purposes for centuries.
