Pungent and citrusy. A good source of antioxidants and useful to lessen salt intake.
The leaves and stems of the Coriander plant, known as Cilantro, are often dried or used fresh in cooking. The Coriander plant has been cultivated for thousands of years, dating back to at least the second millennium BC, used for perfume manufacturing and as a spice from its seeds and an herb from its leaves. Interestingly, some have strong aversions to cilantro due to a “soapy or rotten” flavor. Studies have shown this aversion to vary among ethnicities and based on genetic inheritance. Whether you love it or hate it, we can say that Cilantro might be the most divisive of the herb family.
Use this to impress your friends with a delicious homemade guac! Also great for dressings, soups, and to season fish.
