History
The Marigold plant is indigenous to Mexico and Guatemala, and was discovered during the early 16th century and brought to Europe and Northern Africa in the late 16th century where they put in gardens. The family name for Marigolds is derived from a mythical Etruscan deity.

Add marigolds to homemade summer rolls with some crunchy veggies and a zesty peanut sauce for dipping. Marigold jam is also delicious and quite a lovely color. You can also, of course, use marigolds to decorate your cakes and cupcakes.
